A little bit art. A little bit hobby. A whole lot of fun.
"It'll be fun." they said. "Just a part time hobby..." they said. Well...that "fun" "part-time hobby" quickly turned into an obsession.
I've always been artsy, and I love working with my hands and digging in the dirt (gardening), but as soon as I'd built my first little pixie house I knew that I'd found my calling. It was cute, but not too sappy. Detailed, but not too busy. Whimsical, but not too silly. Kind of like me!
It satisfies the hobbyist in me by giving me detailed work to master in various disciplines (mold making, casting, construction, painting, etc.) in order to achieve the best final product. It satisfies the designer in me as I get to conceive, plan and build virtually anything that I can imagine. And it satisfies the artist in me, giving me licence to create whole new worlds with each project, evoking a range of emotions in the viewer. For me, at least, it's been the perfect outlet to fill that creative niche in my life.
I didn't expect my tiny gardens and houses to bring smiles to so many people, but they have. In real life and on Social Media (Facebook, Pinterest) the response to my work has been so gratifying and encouraging. So I've committed myself to this tiny (pun intended) endeavor in the hopes that it can continue to bring joy to all involved, including myself!
So my life now revolves around these few things: Family (including dogs!), Friends and Fairy Houses. Please join me and let's make some miniature magic!
